NPK use map of Tamil Nadu (2003-04)

Highlights

  • The Districts where NPK consumption is less than national average, are drought prone areas.
  • The Districts where highest consumption is recorded are under Kauveri river delta where very intensive agriculture is in practice due to assured water supply.
  • In other Districts, cash crops like sugarcane, turmeric, etc., are cultivated in addition to rice.
